Thoughts SELAH 12/18/2007 JUDGES 5:16 Why did you sit among the sheepfolds, to hear the piping for the flocks? Apparently, the playing of flutes was used by the Israelites in relation to their flocks of sheep. The Scripture here says it was for the sheep, so it was more than something to pass the time. The music of the pipes would have a soothing effect on the sheep. Perhaps they could recognize the particular song or playing style of their shepherd. Music has an effect on the sheep in the fold of the church today as well. The songs we sing and the style in which we arrange them must be Spirit breathed to minister to us so we can experience our Lords peace. Our pipings should be grace filled songs that enfold the sheep in relationship with our loving heavenly Father. Worship Pastor George Sabolick |
